The nearest airport to Pizzo is Lamezia Airport, which is well served by international and domestic flights.
Ryanair provide low cost flights from London Stansted to Lamezia Airport three times a week throughout the year.
If cost is not a concern, then Monarch Airlines also fly London Gatwick to Lamezia on Saturdays from May to October.

Another option is to fly to Rome, and catch a fast train to Lamezia Terme Station. Journey time between Rome and Lamezia is 4 hours, and special offer tickets can be bought in advance. Tickets go on sale about two months before travel date on the Trenitalia website. Transfer between Rome Airports and Roma Termini railway station is quick and easy by Terravison coach.

When you arrive at Lamezia Airport, you will need a taxi to take you to Pizzo. Taxis are very expensive, and need to be booked in advance to get a good price. Pizzo is 20km from the airport, and the journey takes about 25 minutes. Use our Airport Transfer form to get a quote for a pre-booked airport transfer from €40.
There is a Navetta bus from the Airport to Lamezia Terme train station, which is 3km away. It is possible to travel by train to Vibo-Pizzo or Pizzo stations. The journey takes 15 minutes from Lamezia to Vibo-Pizzo Station, which is 4km from Pizzo. You will need a bus or taxi from the station to Pizzo. Small local trains run along the coast from Lamezia to Pizzo Station, which is 1km from Pizzo centre (20 mins walk, but not recommended with luggage).
If you want to fly-drive from Rome or Naples, then Pizzo is about 6 hours from Rome and 4 hours from Naples. Follow the A3 Autostrada from Salerno towards Reggio Calabria, and take the exit marked Pizzo.
In August parking is difficult in Pizzo, and there are frequent traffic jams due to the influx of visitors with cars. In the summer months the locals abandon their cars, and take to the roads on mopeds and motorbikes.
